Family Membership Eligibility Policy

1. Purpose & Definition

The Family Membership is designed to provide discounted access for three or more legally related individuals who function as a single economic unit. Legally related means relation by blood, marriage or partnership, or legal decree (adoption/guardianship).  This membership is strictly reserved for:

  • Two Spouses or Domestic Partners (the “Primary” and “Secondary” adults) and one or more legal Dependents (children under age 21, or up to age 23 if a full-time student).

  OR

  • One Adult and two or more legal dependents (children under age 21, or up to age 23 if a full-time student).

2. Mandatory Verification Requirements

To prevent fraudulent accounts, the following documentation must be presented in person before the secondary members’ access is activated:

  • For Adults: Both adults must present a valid government-issued ID.
    • Address Match: Both IDs must reflect the same residential address.
    • Secondary Proof: If IDs do not match (e.g., a recent move), a joint bank statement, lease agreement, or utility bill in both names is required.
  • For Minors: The Primary or Secondary adult must be the legal guardian.
    • The gym reserves the right to request a birth certificate or tax transcript (with financial data redacted) if the relationship is in question.
  • The “One-Payer” Rule: All dues and fees for a Family Membership must be processed through a single credit card or bank account. We do not split billing between family members.

3. Explicit Exclusions

The following groups do not qualify for the Family Membership, regardless of their living situation:

  • Roommates or Friends: Living together does not constitute a “Family” unit under this policy.
  • Extended Family: Cousins, aunts, uncles, or grandparents are not eligible unless legal guardianship of a minor can be proven.
  • Adult Children: Once a child reaches age 21 (or 23 if a student), they must transition to an individual membership.

4. Policy Enforcement & Audits

  • Verification Hold: New family add-ons will be registered as “Pending” in the system. Access tags will not be issued until the verification documents are sighted by management.
  • Photo Identification: All members must have a clear, up-to-date headshot on file in Rock Gym Pro. Check-in staff are required to verify the face on the screen matches the person entering.
  • Right to Audit: The gym reserves the right to audit family accounts annually. If a member is found to have falsified their relationship or residency, the membership will be terminated immediately without a refund, and a permanent ban may be issued.“Verified Spousal IDs on [Date] – [Staff Initials]” This prevents users from “staff shopping” to find a more lenient staff member.
  • The gym reserves the right to make changes to the membership plan.
